White Collar
Pub, Blue Collar
Prices
By Cindy Hemper
These days, most
of the attention
for restaurants
and taverns seem
to
focus on those
located on State
Street, while
others just a
bit off the
beaten path go
without quite as
much attention.
The Sidewalk
Series was
designed to
feature
restaurants,
pubs, taverns
and favorite hot
spots that are
not located on
State Street,
but just as
worthy of

Yes, very good.
He also wrote
The Crucible and
a bunch of other
stuff. Now, shhhhh). It

Do You Have a
Drunken Monkey
Mind?
By Ed and Deb
Shapiro
Have you ever
felt as if your
mind was
driving
you crazy? Does
the chatter in
your head go on
endlessly?
Meditation
appears to be a
simple answer to
this: just calm
the mind and pay
attention to the
present. Then
how come it is
not so easy? My
thoughts are
driving me mad!
My mind will not
be quiet! I
can’t relax!
Sound familiar?...Read

Powerful
Grooves and
Restless Riffs

When one first
hears the word "Metalcore",
words such as
"heavy" and
"thrashing" come
to mind. With
the birth of
such bands as
Earth Crisis, Deadguy and
Integrity in the
early 1990’s, a
new breed of
music, Metalcore
took form that
combined extreme
metal and
hardcore punk.
Metalcore places
a significantly
greater emphasis
on melody rather
than the sounds
of the usually
Death and
Hardcore music
with modern
elements of punk
and metal which
tend to fuse
melodic death
metal and
post-hardcore....Read

Joke Of The Week
SIGNING IN
Jake was sitting in a bar and noticed a
group of people using sign language.
He also noticed that the bartender was
using sign language to speak to them.
When the bartender returned to him, Jake
asked how he had learned to use sign
language.
The bartender explained that these were
regular customers and had taught him to
speak in sign. Jake thought that was
great.
A few minutes later Jake noticed that
the people in the group were waving
their hands around very wildly.
The bartender looked over and signed,
"Now cut that out! I warned you!" and
threw the group out of the bar.
Jake asked why he had done that and the
bartender said, "If I told them once I
told them 100 times - NO SINGING IN THE
BAR!"

Quote of the Week
“You can have anything you want - if you
want it badly enough. You can be
anything you want to be, do anything you
set out to accomplish if you hold to
that desire with singleness of purpose.”
